Luarca and Praia as Catedrais

Leaving Oviedo towards La Corun~a, we made two stops along the way - the fishing village of Luarca and the Praia as Catedrais (gallego)/ Playa de las Catedrales (castellano)/ Beach of the Cathedrals, famous for its natural arches when the tide is out.

We had lunch in Luarca, which included the use of a Sidra dispenser that we had seen but never used before.  As previously mentioned, Sidra should be poured from high above the glass in order to create bubbles which will enhance the flavor. In order to help in doing this, a sidra dispenser was invented and it's absolutely genius.  Turn the bottle upside down, insert the glass, push the button and the sidra is dispensed from a tube high above...very cool.

  1. Cooper was standing over my shoulder as I read today's post to her and each time I scrolled down to the next picture, ever so quietly I was here her go, "beautiful...." or "wow, amazing"... it was so cute. She says she wants to go to this beach and see the arches. As always, beautiful pictures and glad to see you made it to the beach at the perfect time! Planning is everything! Besos, Caryl

  3. Hey Q-Man, Sidra is an alcoholic drink made with apples, kind of like beer. When you are 18 we need to come to Spain so you can enjoy some!!
